Tauno Bilsted came to NYC at 15 and after living at C Squat for a number of years was voted into Umbrella House where he has assiduously helped with electricity and plumbing since 1992.

Marisa DeDominicis was recruited to help open up the squat at 539 East 13th Street by David Boyle and Joannie Freedom when she was found gardening with a hammer in an abandoned lot.
